Odu’a has been facilitating the attraction of PZ Wilmar, a major Investor in Oil Palm value chain in Cross River State to show interest in the revamping of Okiti Pupa Oil Palms Plantation.
Following various joint visit of the Wilmars Group team, the Odu’a Group Team and representatives of the Ondo State Government to the Wilmars Group Plantations at Calabro and Ebise both in Calabar, a presentation was made to His Excellency, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, Governor of Ondo State on August 10, 2018. This took place at the Governor’s Office, Alagbaka Estate, Akure with other top cabinet members in attendance.
The Odu’a Investment Company Limited team was led by Chief Segun Ojo, an Odu’a Director. Others in the team were Odu’a GMD/CEO, Mr. Adewale Raji and Head Corporate Affairs, Mr. Victor Ayetoro while Mr Santosh Pillai, MD of Wilmar Group & Sub-sahara Africa led the Wilmar Team.
His Excellency admitted that in view of the situation of Okiti Pupa Oil Palm Plc and issues around the ownership being resolved, there has been some delay in government actions.
Notwithstanding the governor assured that the privatization process will commence within the fourth quarter of the year 2018.
If the process goes as planned, Odu’a should be taking equity participation and ownership in the new Okiti-Pupa Oil Palm Plc.
